Alex joined RACOM in 2021 to serve as our Chief Information Officer. In his role, he leads the Information Technology and Network Control Center teams and guides the vision, strategy, and execution of RACOM IT initiatives.
Alex came to us from the 71st Civil Support Team (CST), Iowa National Guard, where he served full-time as their Communications Chief. There, he oversaw the operation and maintenance of a highly capable, multi-platform, mobile communications suite providing civilian Incident Commanders and First Responders with a robust voice, data, and LMR capabilities when needed most. Alex served on the CST Working Group Committee as a Regional Representative. He retired from the U.S. Army in October 2021 after more than 26 years of service. While serving, Alex earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Networking and Cybersecurity with a minor in Business Administration, graduating Cum Laude from University of Maryland, Global Campus.
A proud Iowa native, Alex, and his family live in Johnston, Iowa. He loves spending time with his family, going to concerts and movies, woodworking, and traveling. Alex and Melissa are also passionate about giving back to their community, supporting various causes throughout the year. Together, they raise their four children: Coltin, Lydia, Caleb, and Ike.
