Thinking About a NextGen 911 System

Don't Miss Your Chance for an Easy, Low-Investment Upgrade
(For Iowans, Yours May be Free!)

Beginning July 1, 2014, Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) will be eligible to receive up to $100,000, with no matching funds required, to assist in purchasing equipment.  This is the result of the 2015 Carryover Fund Grant Program.

RACOM received an Iowa state contract for the E-911 Equipment Upgrade program as the result of a recent RFP process. Thanks to this program and the availability of Carryover Fund Grant monies, PSAPs now have the opportunity to upgrade their equipment easily and affordably.

Here’s what RACOM’s State E-911 contract means for you:

  • The process for purchasing IP/SIP enabled call-taking equipment is streamlined.

  • Our contract pricing allows you to completely customize upgrades with number of phone lines, positions, and install requirements.

  • We have contracts for both Zetron’s MAX and Intrado's Viper - the two best systems available!

  • We’re here to help you evaluate which of our contract solutions best meets your needs. Give us a call today at 800-722-6643.

Don’t miss this opportunity to upgrade your equipment with grant dollars. These funds are limited, so hurry and sign up before the grant money runs out!

  • You may submit applications beginning June 1, 2014, for the 2015 fiscal year.

  • Purchases and installs must be completed in the July 2014 – June 2015 fiscal year.

  • The application will be on the RACOM website by the end of April, or contact us and we'll send it out immediately.

Remember, we’re here to help you through this process. If you have any questions about RACOM’s state contract, the Carryover Fund Grant Program, or E-911 upgrades in general, let us know.

Wireless E911 Emergency Communications Carryover Fund Application, along with all other program documents, is located under the tab titled: Public Safety Awareness Points (PSAPs) and Local Service Board Documents on the Programs/Enhanced 9-1-1 (E911) page of the Iowa Homeland Security website.
